Children learn differently. Students with average or above-average intelligence may experience specific difficulties in perception or cognition and may not thrive in a typical classroom environment. The Academy Ministry Board recognized the need to help students with learning difficulties and disabilities. In 1984, Cedar Grove Christian Academy adopted the National Institute of Learning Disabilities program (NILD) and opened the CGCA Discovery Center.

The Discovery Center, through the NILD program, centers on stimulating areas of weakness to help students reach their God-given potential. One-on-one intensive educational therapy is provided twice each week. Techniques are specifically designed to improve performance in the classroom and everyday life.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
